After operating for almost a decade in Cambodia, An Cuong Wood Working JSC, which specialises in wood-based interior building materials, is gearing up to expand its business in the Kingdom, as demand for wooden interior products continue to show positive growth signs.

As part of its efforts to promote the company, both to the commercial sector and individual buyers, the Ho Chi Minh City-based An Cuong will showcase its high quality products in eight booths at the Cambuild’19 trade fair next month.

Its wood-based products produced using MFC (melamine faced chipboard) melamine MDF (Medium-density fibreboard), laminates, high gloss acrylic, veneer materials are widely used to decorate the interiors of condominiums, offices, malls, hotels and homes.

“We are the largest wood-based decorative producers in Vietnam and we wish to further expand our business in the Cambodian market. Cambodia is booming, especially the construction sector, more buildings and condominiums are coming up.

“The local market is growing and we see good demand for these goods in the future,” An Cuong’s country manager Soeung Sotheany told The Post.

“We are looking for new partners in Cambodia as part of our efforts to expand and we hope to sell our products to all segments of buyers (developers and individual consumers).

“Our products will be highly suitable for upcoming new condominiums that are being build,” added Sotheany.

Last year, the company sold wood-based products worth $2 million and this year, its revenue is expected to touch $3 million, he added, largely due to the growing demand for MDF boards.

Using the latest technology, An Cuong produces fancy interior decorative products that are exported worldwide.

With a strong workforce of over 4,000 workers, An Cuong manufactures kitchen and bedroom cabinets, wardrobes and furniture, and they are exported to Asean markets, Japan, Europe and North America.

An Cuong is currently operating 10 showrooms in Vietnam and has representative offices in Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia and the US as well.

Foreign manufacturers, like An Cuong, are beginning to explore the fast-growing Cambodian economy, which is driven by construction, tourism and garment sectors.

International property developers continue to invest heavily in high rise office towers and luxury residential properties in the capital, which further fuels the demand for interior building materials and decorative products.

The ninth edition of Cambuild’19, to be held at the Diamond Island Exhibition and Convention Center from September 18-20, is expected to attract 500 companies from 20 countries, which will showcase the latest products and services catering for the construction industry.

Sotheany says demand for wood-based interior products is growing in Cambodia.
