Tan Chong Motor have another fantastic offering from the Nissan range. This time it is the Nissan X-trail. Another excellent stalwart of the Nissan range, the X-trail once looked quite ‘boxy’.

Not anymore though, this mid-sized SUV combines elegant curves sweeping over wheel arches accentuating a modern profile and roofline. These lines that are echoed in the Daytime Running Lights, boomerang shaped LEDs that are paired with similar shaped rear lights, and on the front end, a very refined European front grill.

From the front end to the boot, the Nissan X-Trail is a much more handsome younger brother to its equally reliable and hardworking older sibling.

The X-Trail is not going to rest on its laurels though. It remains spacious and reliable but with new extra wide opening doors, owners can get just about anything into the cabin. EZ Flex Seating System, a trademark of Nissan, allows for multiple combinations of seating, or storage. Rear seats can slide forward, backwards or fold down in a second.

This allows passengers to configure the most comfortable seating arrangement dependent on luggage and numbers. When combined with the fold down ability of the second and third row seats, there is an amazing 1,520 litres of space.

The X Trail is not short on user technology. Nissan Intelligent Mobility allows for a more confident driver, more connected and engaged with the car and road via increased safety. Nissans safety features are great across the range and the X-Trail is no exception.

Blind Spot Warning detects vehicles in the driver’s blind spots and warns the driver via indicator lighting. Cross Traffic Alert means safer reversing out of parking spots, any vehicle approaching from the side is detected and the driver is audibly warned.

Intelligent Ride Control, taking the guesswork out of control on uneven surfaces, this feature means a smoother ride for everyone. Intelligent Trace Control applies braking force, allowing for more controlled and safer cornering. Hill Start Assist prevents the X-Trail from slipping when the car is started on an incline.

To complete Nissans expansive array of tech on the X-Trail, Active Brake Limited Slip technology and Vehicle Dynamic Control come as standard.

This premium mid-sized SUV is powered by a 2.0 litre petrol engine with a big 60 litre petrol tank. Using Nissans Electric Power Steering fuel consumption in the X-Trail is kept to a minimum. A smooth ride comes courtesy of the X-Trail’s XTRONIC transmission, delivering power during higher acceleration resulting in direct performance benefits to the driver.

Any X-Trail fitted with X-TRONIC transmission also has an ECO mode, this will maximise fuel economy and control engine and transmission operation to help avoid rapid acceleration.

In terms of elegance in the X-Trail, the interior is entirely in keeping with the smooth refined aesthetic on the outside of the vehicle.

Fitted with all the info-tainment devices modern owners and passengers have come to expect, Nissan X-Trail owners can easily utilize the Advanced Drive Assist Display, it is best in class quality.

A large five inch full colour display is operated by switches on the steering wheel. The steering wheel is sporty and ergonomic, it’s D-shaped tilt and telescope function allow for easy adjust.

Combined with the space age technology of Nissans Zero-Gravity seats, drivers of the X-Trail remain in safety and comfort. In a country as hot as Cambodia though it is great to see the X-Trail hasn’t forgotten passenger comfort.

The Full Auto Air-Conditioning with Dual Zone Climatic Control distributes cool air throughout the cabin. Stay cool with the whole family is the fully Japanese imported Nissan X-trai from Tan Chong Motor.
