Prime Minister Hun Sen has formed a working group to study and research into medicines and other tools necessary to fight Covid-19.

The team will be led by Pich Chanmony, deputy chair of the board of director of the Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctor Association (TYDA).

According to a decision dated July 30, Chanmony will lead 14 team members to study and search for medicines that are highly effective in treating Covid-19 and preventing infections.

The group will also search for test devices that are effective, easy to use and can be attained at low price, among others medical tools necessary for the fight against Covid-19.

“The team has to communicate with overseas medicine manufacturers or distributors and agencies in this field in order to get medicine to treat the disease and prevent its spread [in Cambodia]. The team must receive clear information on the medicines,” the decision said.

The team also has to communicat with companies that produce and distribute Covid-19 test devices and other necessary tools, it added.
