The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport urged vigilance against the coronavirus as students gather to see the results of their Grade 12 examinations posted at each testing centre across the country on January 14-15.

In a letter addressed to all municipal and provincial education departments and officials tasked with managing exam centres, minister Hang Chuon Naron said Covid-19 preventive measures must be carried out as the highly transmissible Omicron variant continues to spread in the community.

He said the exam results would be announced in the capital and Kandal province on the afternoon of January 14, and in 23 other provinces on January 15.

“In this regard, the ministry appeals to the centre directors to ensure health measures are implemented,” he said.

The minister noted that the results would also be posted on the ministry’s official Facebook page, urging students to turn to the platform to avoid gathering at each testing centre.

At testing centres, he advised that the results be posted at a safe distance to avoid students congregating.

“The results must be posted away from the playground or other gathering places. Those who are not involved in the exam shall be forbidden from getting to the places where the results are posted,” said the letter.

Also, students who come to see the results must have their temperature taken, sanitise their hands and wear a mask. They must leave the centre immediately after seeing the results to avoid large gatherings.
