Por Sen Chey district police plan to send a 15-year-old girl to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Wednesday for attacking a motorcycle taxi (motodop) driver when he allegedly raped her at a guesthouse in Chaom Chao III commune on Monday.

Commune police chief Theng Kosal said on Monday that the alleged rapist, Ros Phat, 58, lives in a rented room in Por Sen Chey district’s Kakab II commune.

The girl is from Oral district’s Sangke Satoap commune in Kampong Speu province.

Kosal said that around 8am on Monday, Phat saw her holding a cloth package while he was driving near South Tang Krasang pagoda.

Phat stopped to ask where she wanted to go and offered to give her a ride. He then promised to give her $20 in return for a massage.

“After the agreement, the man took her to a guesthouse in Chaom Chao commune, where he allegedly raped her,” he said.

Kosal said when Phat allegedly asked to sleep with the girl for the second time, she told him to lay face down, at which point she took a cleaver from her package and attacked him.

She then shouted for help from the guesthouse staff who called the police after finding him covered in blood.

During questioning, the girl told police she is an orphan and came to Phnom Penh to find a job.

Kosal said Phat suffered deep wounds on his thighs, ribs, head and shoulders and is being treated at the Calmette hospital.

“It is not certain if the man will survive or not. I just follow the prosecutor’s orders. We have to find justice for both sides,” Kosal said.
