Cambodia's new daily infections near 1,000

The Ministry of Health on May 4 reported another 938 Covid-19 cases linked to the February 20 community outbreak.

Phnom Penh recorded the most cases at 608, followed by Kandal at 175; Preah Sihanouk at 77; Banteay Meanchey at 51; Kampong Speu at 14; Takeo at four; Kampong Cham at three; Tbong Khmum at two; and one each in Pursat, Svay Rieng, Battambang and Siem Reap.

The ministry also reported one new death – an 81-year-old man in Preah Sihanouk province – and 361 recoveries.

As of May 5, Cambodia had recorded a total of 16,299 Covid-19 cases, with 10,394 receiving ongoing treatment and 106 fatalities.
