Battambang and Kep provinces on September 17 issued new Covid restriction orders.

Battambang Provincial Administration has indefinitely suspended all businesses and occupations deemed as posing high risk of Covid-19 transmission.

These include karaoke bars, nightclubs, discotheques, beer gardens, casinos, resorts, museums, playgrounds, amusement parks, cupping and coining clinics, massage parlours, and sauna and steam facilities.

Face masks and social distancing are now compulsory in the province, while alcohol sales and all gatherings of more than 10 people are banned.

The administration noted that authorities would continue to cordon off individual rooms, buildings or businesses where Covid-19 cases are detected, and oblige quarantine for anyone who has been exposed to the novel coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Kep Provincial Administration extended its coronavirus restrictions for 14 days through to September 30.
