22 more provinces get nod for Covid home care

The Ministry of Health has allowed 22 more provinces to provide home-based treatment for mild and asymptomatic Covid-19 cases.

According to an announcement dated July 29, the provinces are Battambang, Pailin, Pursat, Kampong Chhnang, Koh Kong, Preah Sihanouk, Kampot, Kep, Takeo, Kampong Speu, Siem Reap, Oddar Meanchey, Preah Vihear, Kampong Thom, Kampong Cham, Tbong Khmum, Kratie, Stung Treng, Ratanakkiri, Mondulkiri, Prey Veng and Svay Rieng.

The 22 provinces join Phnom Penh and Banteay Meanchey in beginning the practice. Noticeably absent from the list is Kandal province.

"Follow the Standard Operating Procedures for home care and treatment of patients with mild or asymptomatic cases," it stated.

The ministry instructed each municipal and provincial administration to prepare and plan for the launch of home treatment in territories under their jurisdictions.
