The commitments were made in an annual report for the ministry released on Wednesday. In the past year, the ministry has been instrumental in pushing a “colour revolution” narrative that ultimately provided the basis for a court complaint that led to the dissolution of the Cambodia National Rescue Party.
“Ensuring security by managing and maintaining the good situation, by investigating the tricks, strategy or new actions of unfriendly groups, especially tricks during the pre-, mid- and post- election period,” the report reads.
The report also noted security issues arising out of the increased use of social media, which has seen a trend of leaks and hacks affecting both the CNRP and the ruling party.
The ministry also held two closed-door talks on ensur-ing security and the continued crackdown on the purported revolution, involving ministry, police, Military Police and provincial officials.
