The Phnom Penh Post is an independent media company in Cambodia and is seeking the fulltime qualified candidate to fill the positions as described below:
1- Business Reporter : 04 Positions
2- Photographer : 03 Positions
3- Translator : 04 Positions
4- Sub-Editor : 04 Positions
5- Lifestyle Reporter : 03 Positions

Main duties and responsibilities
1. Reports to assignment editor
2. Language fluency, and ability to write well in English and Khmer
3. Keen sense of what is news and how to present it in a fair and unbiased manner
4. Covering and writing articles for national news / business desk
5. Developing own story ideas
6. Effectively carrying out news/business assignments
7. Able to travel to provinces to cover and write interesting news/business articles
8. Working as a team and able to grow and learn more on the job
Qualifications and experience required
1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, economics, finance or its equivalent
2. At least two years experience as a journalist in a daily newspaper
3. Must be able to speak and write fluently in English
4. Fluent in spoken and written Khmer necessary but not vital
5. Fluency in spoken and written English is a must
6. Computer literacy (ability to type in Khmer Unicode, though not vital for foreign applicants), MS Word etc
7. Cambodian nationals preferred but foreign nationalities are encouraged to apply
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Taking photos professionally on daily assignments
2. Selecting, editing and filing photos on deadline
3. Writing photo captions for both Khmer and English language
4. Working under flexibility and time pressure to meet the deadline
5. Working closely with reporters and sub-editors
6. Desiring to improve photography skills
7. Being a good teamwork member
8. Being honest to the company and colleagues
Qualifications and experience required
1. Bachelor’s degree in photojournalism or equivalent (preferred but not vital)
2. At least two years experience as a photographer
3. Be able to speak and write in English
4. Solid knowledge of Photoshop, Capture One or other photography specific software
5. Strong work commitment
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Translate articles in English into Khmer and vice versa
• Get assignments for translation from editors and sub-editors
• Work closely with editors and sub-editors
• Verify quotes, names and positions of sources with writers
Qualifications and experience required:
• Bachelor’s degree in English literature or an equivalent degree
• At least two year’s experience in translation for other media organization
• Computer literacy (can type Khmer Unicode)
Main duties and responsibilities
1. Reports to chief sub-editor on all day-to-day matters
2. Manages the layout of pages, and uses editing software i.e. Indesign and Incopy
3. Communicate effectively with reporters in English and Khmer (preferred but not necessary)
Qualifications and experience required
1. Bachelor’s degree in journalism or its equivalent (preferred but not vital)
2. Fluent in English is a must, fluency in Khmer will be an asset
3. One to two years experience as a sub-editor
4. Experience in news / business reporting
5. Familiar with names of government ministries, departments and agencies
6. Familiar with specific language used in court, crime and political stories
7. Sound understanding of local politics and business atmosphere
8. Cambodian nationals preferred but foreign nationalities are encouraged to apply
Main duties and responsibilities
• Write celebrity-related, art, culture, entertainment, stories etc.
• Attend event and take photo for lifestyle.
• Summaries and wrap-up the weekly stories for online
• Reporting lifestyle stories for business videos.
• Starring in the travel video and doing interviews.
• Produce both print and online stories at least two of a day.
• Posting the stories online in CMS format.
• Interview celebrities for print stories and video.
Qualifications and experience required
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field such as media or social science.
• Two years experience in media and communication.
• Being able to communicate well in both Khmer and English.
• Willing to join events after working hours and weekdays.
• Being enthusiastic to travel to the provinces on weekends.
• Having an adventurous spirit to explore new places and things.
• Being able to take good photos and write professional stories.
• Willing to learn CMS and video reporting.
