U-Pay and E-GetS ink MoU as strategic partners for digital payments
U-Pay Digital Plc and E-GetS Technology Co, Ltd last Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on a digital payments partnership and leveraging the use of ecosystems.
The signing ceremony, attended by distinguished guests, was held at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra with the participation of the management and employees of both companies.
The MoU marked the integration of the U-Pay payment gateway with E-GetS, a growing local food delivery application giant. The partnership is anticipated to bring more convenience to E-GetS’ vendors and U-Pay Wallet users by bringing forth a hassle-free payment channel.
Orders and deliveries can be managed on a single POS device, allowing sellers to focus on food quality and speed. At the same time, buyers can enjoy contact-free delivery and secure payment by using just their smartphone.
Bringing businesses and consumers together to promote cashless payments and make the food delivery experience more exciting is the core objective of the collaboration.
“We are delighted to become a strategic partner with E-GetS to promote electronic money transactions and kick-off mutual campaigns from today onwards. We believe that digital payment is part of the new lifestyles of our customers.
"Our partnership will assist thousands of small and medium-size enterprises to upgrade by maximising the use of digital technology in doing business, and this cooperation surely takes an important role in the development of a digital society and the digital economy," Koh Hao Jie, the CEO of U-Pay, said at the ceremony.

This is just the start – more excitement will keep coming.”
E-GetS was founded in 2018 serving e-commerce and flash delivery services. Food, beverages and merchandise from thousands of shops can be purchased and delivered with just a few taps on a smartphone.
U-Pay was established in 2019 and licensed as a local payment service institution by the National Bank of Cambodia in 2020.
So far, U-Pay has rolled out a broad contact-free ecosystem, which includes the "U-Pay Wallet" mobile app and the “U-Pay Kiosk” cash deposit-withdrawal machines.
The U-Pay Wallet is available to download from Apple's App Store and Google's Play Store, and users can register for free in minutes. The e-wallet account can be topped up via the multifunction U-Pay Kiosk machines available in Phnom Penh, and several provinces including Kandal, Battambang, Siem Reap and Preah Sihanouk.
