On Friday April 1, SOVRIN magazine organised a press conference to publicise a special 55th issue edition of SOVRIN magazine aimed at raising awareness of Khmer culture and civilization and to preserve traditional ways of life.

This edition of SOVRIN magazine will also explore the traditional ceremony of greeting the New Year devata, or angel, which usually takes place in the compound of a pagoda. SOVRIN has chosen Kampong Chhnang province to introduce contemporary Khmer audiences to the many forms of Khmer traditional games that are played each year to celebrate Khmer New Year. Photo supplied
