LIXIN and Cambodia Shooting Federation break ground on 2023 SEA Games venue
LIXIN Group and the Cambodia Shooting Federation (CSF) on July 9 held a groundbreaking ceremony as work began on state-of-the-art facilities for the sport to help ensure the Kingdom’s smooth running of the 32nd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games.
The shooting venue for the Cambodia 2023 SEA Games is to be located at LIXIN’s Sihanoukville New City (SNC).
Lt Gen Tan Sokvichea, the vice president of the CSF, and Kevin Hsu, the CEO of LIXIN Group, were present to witness the historic moment, at an event also attended by representatives of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia, distinguished guests and the media.
Lt Gen Sokvichea offered congratulations on the official groundbreaking ceremony for the shooting venue in Preah Sihanouk province and expressed his heartfelt thanks to LIXIN Group for its unwavering support.
He also encouraged the expeditious completion of the venue so it can be put to use as soon as possible.
The site will serve as the main venue for shooting at the 2023 SEA Games, and will be open to the public as the Preah Sihanouk province shooting centre when the regional multi-sport event concludes.
Hsu said Cambodia has made great developments in sport, and having become better known and appreciated by the public, shooting will be one of the main disciplines at the SEA Games.
The Preah Sihanouk shooting venue will not only make up for a shortage of regional sporting facilities, but will also lead to the further development and enrichment of tourism in the province, he added.
Since entering the Kingdom, LIXIN Group has maintained a strong focus on the development of sport in Cambodia, from the construction of facilities and support of athletes, to the donation of equipment, to help ensure the best results.
