The Maybank Foundation presented 150 face masks handwoven in the Kingdom to the Asean secretariat in a symbolic gesture in Jakarta last Monday. The foundation, the corporate responsibility arm of Malaysia-based banking conglomerate Maybank Group, delivered the consignment to Asean secretary-general HE Lim Jock Hoi. The 150 masks are to be distributed to the 10 permanent representatives of the regional bloc in the Indonesian capital. Part of the financial institution’s drive towards combating the Covid-19 outbreak, 250 Cambodian women in the Maybank Women Eco-Weavers programme have made 111,111 of the cotton and silk face masks.
