A workshop on the importance of quality craftsmanship was held last week to contribute to the development of Cambodian manufacturing. The event was jointly organised by global automotive parts producer DENSO and the Institut de Technologie du Cambodge (ITC). At the conclusion of the workshop, the company and ITC said they were happy with the result, saying that participants were well-equipped with the basic knowledge of monozukiri, which means craftsmanship. They also educated the workers on Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety, or QCDS, and taught them how to work safely while producing high-quality products. Along with safety, the three-day workshop also taught workers to focus on how to produce quality goods at a low cost, and emphasised the importance of making deliveries to customers on time. On the final day, the participants took a tour of the the Denso plant. Photos by Hong Menea
