Cambodia’s leading petanque player Ouk Sreymom grabbed the ladies singles gold in the World Petanque Championships in Ghent, Belgium, on Sunday after outplaying Tunisian Mouna Beji 13-7 in the final.

The Kingdom’s mixed pair of Nhem Bora and Sreang Sora Khim had to settle for silver after going down in the final showdown with their Tunisian rivals.

Sreymom follows in th illustrious footsteps of Sok Chan Mean, the men’s world champion in Madagascar last year, and two-time female world title winner Ke Leng, who did the country proud in France in 2013 and Thailand in 2015.
