Bisan bags treble as Svay Rieng hit EdC for six

Frontrunning Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng stretched their lead at the top of the Metfone C-League table to five points over nearest rivals NagaWorld after smashing league newboys Electricite du Cambodge 6-0 in Takeo’s Svay Rieng Stadium that both sides call home in their Sunday evening clash.

Taking to the pitch the day after Naga outsmarted Army 3-0, the Svay Rieng giants were all over the minnows, with George Bisan, once a feared forward with Phnom Penh Crown, completing a clinical hat-trick.

As Bisan harried the EdC defence, two other foreign signings, Chigozie Princewill and Ugochukwu Obi, also got onto the scoresheet, with national side call-up Samouen Pidor adding his name to the tally.

Svay Rieng’s 10th win of the season on top of four draws and one loss pushes them to 34 points, five clear of Naga, who managed to stay one point in front of Phnom Penh Crown after the side’s unexpected 1-1 draw with bottom of the table Kirivong Sok Sen Chey on Saturday.

For a team that had kept the pressure on Svay Rieng all through the season, Saturday’s loss to Naga dropped Army to fourth, level on points with defending champions Boeung Ket, who dismissed Western Phnom Penh 4-0.
In Sunday’s opening fixture, National Police swamped Cambodian Mines Action Center 4-0.
