Driver pays hefty fine for load of fowl products

Cops in Banteay Meanchey province cracked an illegal imports case when they stopped a truck carrying unlicensed chicken and duck eggs.

Pulled over on its way into the country from Thailand on Monday, the lorry was holding around 135,000 eggs without proper documentation.

After being taken into temporary custody, the driver hatched out a plan with the boys in blue which saw him shell out 3 million riel ($750) in exchange for being set free with his cargo.
