Red carpet moments: Cambodia International Film Festival
Actors, directors, young filmmakers and more came together at Phnom Penh’s Chaktomuk Theater on Saturday to launch the Cambodia International Film Festival – a showcase of work produced in the Kingdom and beyond.
This year’s festival features more than 160 screenings and events from over 40 countries, and a public open air screening on Friday saw crowds gather on Koh Pich to enjoy Sok Visal’s comedy ‘Poppy Goes To Hollywood’.
‘Jailbreak’ director Jimmy Henderson, whose action-packed comedy is one of the biggest films to be made in the Kingdom in recent years, said, “I'm very honoured to be here. The film festival is a great event, it is growing and growing thanks also to the presence last year of Angelina Jolie, who brought more exposure to the event.”
“There's a lot more producers and distributors coming to Cambodia to check the films and to see what is the scene, what is really happening in Cambodia,” he added.
