Organizational Unit: Human Rights Officer (Right to Participation)
Contract Type & Level: Fixed Term Appointment, NO-A (National Post)
Duty Station: Phnom Penh, Cambodia
Main Requirement: Completed advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in law, political and social sciences or related field (or a Bachelor in the same fields combined with two years of experience). Up to 2 years of relevant professional experience (with a Master degree; or minimum two years if with only a Bachelor degree.) Proficiency in oral and written English and Khmer.
Summary of Key Functions:
♦ Contribute to the monitoring and analysis of legislations, policies and practices that affect the right to participate in public affairs and the related fundamental freedoms of assembly, association, expression and opinion;
♦ Monitor and investigate on alleged human rights abuses, in particular as related to relevant rights and freedoms;
♦ Share information as relevant with key stakeholders, including duty-bearers at national and sub-national levels;
♦ Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, from both government and national institutions as well as civil society organisations, and provide technical assistance as appropriate;
♦ Provide administrative support and general services when needed.
