China-based Hainan Airlines Global has launched two new direct commercial flights between Guangzhou and Cambodia, with its first flight from Baiyun airport to Siem Reap on July 26 and its first flight from Baiyun to Phnom Penh on July 28.

Service to and from both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap is now being offered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until October 27, with service to Siem Reap additionally available on Sundays. In 2015, Kunming-based carrier Lucky Air became the first Chinese carrier to offer year-round scheduled service to Cambodia’s coastal destination of Sihanoukville, but the airline has since ceased to offer the flights.
